Summer 1981 - A rescued hat - Sitting on the deck of the Ben Alder boat could be a windy place. One day, coming back from McCooks, a gust of wind took Iain MacDonald's Deer Stalker hat clean off his head and into the water. Fortunately it floated, and a quick about turn allowed Iain to rescue it before it soaked up enough water to sink. I think the gentleman standing watching behind him has the initials DN and was a big noise in what was then the Highlands and Islands Development Board. Can anybody help. In the bottom is the toe of yours truly's right boot!
