Dalwhinnie Station from the pedestrian bridge. The station is famous for the arrival and departure of General Montgomery who holidayed here in Dalwhinnie during the last years of World War II. If your family have lived at or worked with the railway in Dalwhinnie, we'd love to hear about that - let us know below.

Hi there. Loving the wee website- fantastic idea! This is a lovely photo of the station caught in our elusive Scottish sunshine! My best pal's 40th birthday is September and we're coming up to stay a long weekend in Aviemore. I was really hoping to do the tour of Dalwhinnie Distillery (as we are great Malt fans!) Can you please give me any tips as to how to do the journey between Aviemore & Dalwhinnie? Is the station near the distillery? Walkable? Any local taxi? Don't really want to have to have a 'nominated driver!' I see there's a chauffeur type taxi service in Aviemore- has anyone used it?- very expensive I would imagine. Anyway thanks so much for reading this. Looking forward to seeing the distillery and your lovely village in September. x

My uncle John was the station master at Dalwhinnie for a good few years. As a boy I often stayed at the station house and had great fun. My son has decided to do a school project on the life of his Great Uncle John. Look forward to researching that with him.
