The Ball of Glentruim

"The Ball of Glentruim"-a famous Gaelic song by "Donald Phail Campbell"-the "Bard of Badenoch" who had the shop in Dalwhinnie-which latterly became "MacPherson's".He also wrote "Gumas Slan Do Na Fearaibth" and others.Seumas Grant sang both and also "The Shielings of Loch Ericht"(the tune of which Robert Burns used for "Address to the Woodlark").Seumas sang all 3 at the "Burns Celebration in Sept. 2005.Much to the delight of Donnie Wilson for whom they were dedicated.Donnie was the first person I ever heard singing this song which relates to 19th Century emigration from Badenoch.
