A 7 lb brown trout from Loch Ericht showing Davie Craib's boots. Davie was a local worthy, and a ghillie-famously for "John Inglis Hall" but others also. This photo is from the "Rothmill Magazine" 1940 - Rothes Mills, Markinch, Fife. The man who took the pic was Dr MacDonald who worked in the labs there and was a keen fisherman and contributor. Davie was Uncle to Mary Christie (nee McLagan) and Charlie. A lovely man who sat in our tent and told his tales on many occasions. He lived latterly at Grampian View. A story goes that, on meeting the Glenrothes Miners Fishing Club guys in the Loch Ericht, he placed a bottle of whisky in front of them and said "You can't leave till that's finished"- nae problem to the Fifers. I'll post pics. Much more to tell but not enough space!
